A mark here is something Scripture or the Church says about the beasts: a trait, an act or a sign by which they can be known. Each mark page gives the texts, what they show, how the Fathers and the Church read them, where interpreters differ, and the response asked of us. Every claim carries its level of authority, so that a mark from Scripture is never confused with a later writer's opinion.

The first marks come from Revelation 13 alone, all of them from Scripture Scripture. Marks from the rest of Scripture, from the Church's teaching, and from the Fathers and later writers will follow, each labeled by its source.

How the marks are usedThis site sets out what has been revealed and names no one. It does not ask who the beast is today, and it sets no dates (CCC 673). The marks are given so that readers can know the beasts and keep watch, in hope.
